Here are some nouns the 2nd graders thought of to describe our new vocabulary this week (they thought of their examples in Spanish). I think it gives a good glimpse into their world.
Big: sky, tree, whiteboard, the Hulk, mountains
Little: ant, worm, lice, earrings
Old: door, grandparents, soccer ball
New: flag, clothes, house
Easy: homework, chores, moping, sweeping, cooking, eating, addition
Difficult: machete-ing, reading, washing clothes, multiplication
Loud: wind, radio, TV
Quiet: mass, movie theatre, classroom objects, silence
